Check-a-thon has officially started! Read on to learn what to expect over the next two weeks from PTO, teachers/staff, and students/families.
The first day of Check-a-thon usually consists of a huge thematic reveal for everyone at the school. From seeing the campus transformation and teachers dressed in character to attending the afternoon assembly to mark the start of this epic event, your kiddos will come home with a lot of information to share!
Things PTO is doing.
The Check-a-thon Committee and WGA families have been hard at work preparing for launch day, but they will continue to oversee logistics and operations to ensure we take-down Bowser.
Also, each day the PTO and parent volunteers will be spending their mornings counting change and tracking every dollar donated.
Our hospitality team will be on-site making sure our teachers and staff are well-nourished and motivated with healthy snacks and catered meals.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need help tracking donations! If you are available between 8:45-10:30am over these next 2 weeks, click here to sign-up to help count change, dollars, and checks!
Things teachers/staff are doing.
We love how our teachers and staff embrace this event. From wearing fantastic costumes to their unyielding school spirit, we appreciate everything they do to keep the momentum going in their classrooms and during our assemblies and campus events.
REMINDER: Super Mario Spirit Day is Friday, October 27. Your kiddos can come to school dressed as their favorite Nintendo character!
Things families/students are doing.
This fundraiser is a unique opportunity for students to be creative in their own fundraising efforts. You’ll often hear of students sending videos to friends and family that share ways the support benefits the school. In past years, students have also taken a more entrepreneurial path, designing products to sell or providing services to help raise their donations dollars.
Check out this fun promo video WGA students created to help launch our epic event!
Regardless whether or not you donate, volunteer your time, or support WGA in other ways, we hope everyone enjoys the excitement of the festivities over these next two weeks!
