Book lovers unite! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to WGA! Here's everything you need to know to get read-y!
The fall book fair is an exciting time for WGA kids. They get a small break from their regular routine to go to the library and shop for new books!
Here are 4 things you should know to help you kid have a successful experience at the Scholastic book fair:
1. Preview the books ahead of time.
Explore the digital flyer on the Scholastic WGA book fair page, which includes different categories of books (some even have video previews of the story for kids to watch in advance.) Encourage your kid to make a list of the books that seem interesting so he/she can make better use of their time the library.
2. Determine a payment method.
Students can use cash or eWallet to purchase books. Parents can set up eWallet, a safe cash-free way for your child to shop, by going to the Scholastic WGA book fair page. Also, credit cards will be accepted during OPEN HOURS where families can shop.
NOTE: Tax will NOT be included in the list price of books. Parents volunteers will be available to assist students in tallying up their totals (to include tax).
3. Sign up to volunteer.
The success of this event depends heavily on our parent volunteers during various shopping hours. In general, volunteers work in shifts and help keep the book fair organized, run the registers, and help kids with their book purchases.

4. Shopping Times
WGA families can shop anytime during OPEN HOURS: Wednesday 8/23 from 12:30pm - 3:00pm and Thursday 8/24, 12:30pm - 6:00pm. (These dates/times also coincide with parent-teacher conferences, so feel free to stop at the library before or after your conference.)
Other shopping times during the school day will vary, depending on grade level and teacher schedule. Teachers will notify students/parents of their assigned date/times.
